Position Overview
UNFPA seeks a dynamic and results-oriented Programme Analyst to support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of reproductive health programmes in Ghana. The successful candidate will provide technical and operational support to ensure high-quality programme delivery, effective partnerships, and measurable impact aligned with UNFPA’s strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst will:
Lead and support the design, implementation, and monitoring of reproductive health programmes and projects.
Develop and appraise project proposals, ensuring alignment with national priorities and UNFPA strategic frameworks.
Coordinate multi-sectoral initiatives and maintain strong partnerships with government agencies, civil society, private sector actors, and development partners.
Strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems to track programme performance and results.
Contribute to resource mobilization efforts and support budget planning and financial oversight.
Provide technical inputs on reproductive health policies, strategies, and health financing initiatives.
Prepare analytical reports, briefs, and donor updates in a timely manner.
Utilize ERP and digital systems (e.g., Oracle, Quantum, Quantum Plus, Quantum PowerBI) for programme and financial management.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, or other related social science field.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in the field of Reproductive Health.
Proven experience in programme and project management, including managing large multi-sector projects.
Demonstrated experience in designing and appraising proposals and liaising with relevant and potential project partners, including civil society and private sector organizations.
Practical experience in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects.
Field experience is an asset.
Prior experience within the UN system is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, cloud-based tools such as Google Suite, and web-based ERP systems including Oracle and Quantum platforms.
Experience in health financing is an added advantage.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of another official UN language, preferably French, is desirable.
