We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Project Lead to oversee project delivery across multiple business areas. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership, ensure effective project governance, manage resources efficiently, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Project Management

As Project Lead, you will:

  • Lead the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
  • Develop project charters, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and implementation strategies.
  • Ensure all projects align with organisational goals, business priorities, and strategic objectives.
  • Establish effective project governance structures, reporting frameworks, and performance monitoring systems.
  • Drive accountability and ensure successful project delivery across all assigned initiatives.

Construction & Infrastructure Projects

You will:

  • Manage housing developments, road projects, drainage systems, and civil engineering initiatives.
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor construction quality, project timelines, and budget performance.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, engineering standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Resolve project challenges and implement corrective actions to maintain delivery standards.

Energy Projects

You will:

  • Manage energy-related projects, including fuel infrastructure, engineering, maintenance, and operational initiatives.
  • Coordinate project activities in line with industry regulations, safety requirements, and operational standards.
  • Support business expansion initiatives within the energy sector.
  • Ensure project readiness, operational continuity, and effective resource utilisation.

Logistics & Freight Projects

You will:

  • Lead logistics improvement projects and supply chain optimisation initiatives.
  • Coordinate transportation, warehousing, customs clearance, and freight operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
  • Support digital transformation and process automation initiatives within logistics operations.

Budget & Cost Management

You will:

  • Develop project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
  • Manage procurement activities, contractor costs, and financial controls.
  • Ensure projects deliver strong commercial value.

Quality Assurance

You will:

  • Ensure projects meet approved specifications, quality standards, and performance requirements.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and project performance reviews.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reduce project risks, defects, delays, and rework.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)

You will:

  • Promote a strong safety culture across all project operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Ghanaian regulations, industry standards, and company HSEQ policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety reviews, and compliance audits.
  • Investigate incidents and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Stakeholder Management

You will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Provide regular project updates, reports, and recommendations to management and the Board.
  • Lead project meetings, reviews, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Resolve stakeholder concerns promptly and professionally.

Team Leadership

You will:

  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams across different business units.
  • Establish project objectives, performance targets, and accountability measures.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop project team members.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and high-performance delivery.

Risk Management

You will:

  • Identify project risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain project risk registers and monitor risk exposure.
  • Escalate critical issues and recommend solutions to management.
  • Develop contingency plans to minimise project disruptions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Project Delivery

Performance will be measured through:

  • Project completion rate.
  • Cost control and budget performance.
  • Schedule adherence.
  • Quality performance.
  • Safety performance, including Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR).
  • Client satisfaction levels.

Financial Performance

Key indicators include:

  • Overall project profitability.
  • Percentage of projects delivered on time.
  • Percentage of projects completed within budget.
  • Resource productivity.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction.

Operational Performance

Success will include:

  • Improved project delivery timelines.
  • Operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Safety compliance performance.
  • Cost management effectiveness.
  • Regulatory compliance achievements.

Logistics Performance

Measurement will include:

  • Freight turnaround time.
  • Customs clearance efficiency.
  • Delivery accuracy.
  • Logistics cost optimisation.
  • Customer satisfaction improvement.

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants should possess:

Educational Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • A Master’s Degree or MBA will be an advantage.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-SP, Agile Project Management, or equivalent qualifications are preferred.

Experience

Applicants must have:

  • Eight (8) to twelve (12) years of project management experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a senior project leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing projects within construction, infrastructure, logistics, energy, industrial operations, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, high-value projects.
