We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance operations and ensure the resort’s facilities, equipment, and infrastructure consistently meet the highest standards.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all maintenance activities across the resort. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient operation of building systems, equipment, utilities, and grounds while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
- Lead all preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities across the resort.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to maximize equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Monitor the condition of buildings, guest rooms, public areas, utilities, and landscaping.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize operational disruptions.
Facilities and Asset Management
- Maintain the resort’s physical assets to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment.
- Oversee the maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and water systems.
- Manage maintenance records, asset registers, and equipment service histories.
- Recommend equipment upgrades and facility improvements to enhance operational performance.
Health, Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and building regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential safety risks.
- Develop and enforce maintenance policies and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate routine testing and servicing of fire protection and emergency systems.
Budget and Resource Management
- Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget.
- Monitor maintenance expenditure and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Manage inventory levels for maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to achieve value while maintaining quality standards.
Contractor and Vendor Management
- Coordinate external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance work.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Verify that all maintenance work complies with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers to support efficient operations.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the maintenance team.
- Allocate work assignments and monitor performance against established standards.
- Identify training needs and support ongoing technical development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Operational Support
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure facilities support exceptional guest experiences.
- Support resort events by ensuring all facilities and equipment are fully operational.
- Participate in emergency response planning and business continuity initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvements in maintenance processes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive maintenance experience, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in the hospitality, hotel, or resort industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, and facility management.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent leadership, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
