Position Summary
As a Purchase Officer, you will oversee end-to-end procurement processes for production and operational requirements. You will collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely sourcing of quality materials while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with company procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, and spare parts.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best value in terms of quality, pricing, and delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
- Track supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Ensure timely delivery of purchased items and resolve any supply-related issues.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and procurement opportunities.
- Prepare procurement reports, purchasing metrics, and cost-saving analyses.
- Support budgeting and cost-control initiatives through strategic sourcing practices.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Utilize ERP systems and procurement tools to manage purchasing activities efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and procurement regulations.
Educational Requirements
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing procurement processes for production-related materials and operational supplies.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
