We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Recruitment Officer to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will support end-to-end recruitment processes, ensure compliance with HR policies, and contribute to building a transparent, efficient, and merit-based hiring system.

Key Responsibilities
You will:
Recruitment Policy & Process Development
- Draft and define recruitment approaches, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, guidelines, and tools for shortlisting, interviewing, and selection processes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment guidelines, HR regulations, and procedures, and recommend improvements where necessary.
Talent Acquisition & Planning
- Support the development and execution of the annual recruitment plan.
- Contribute actively to end-to-end recruitment and selection processes.
- Ensure compliance with AU staff regulations, HR policies, and recruitment standards at all stages.
Vacancy Management & Advertising
- Draft job descriptions and job openings in collaboration with hiring managers and HR Business Partners.
- Ensure evaluation criteria and role responsibilities align with approved staffing frameworks.
- Publish vacancies on the AU website and official social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.
- Monitor vacancy postings and application pipelines to ensure timely recruitment processes.
Selection & Hiring Support
- Coordinate shortlisting and interview processes using SAP SuccessFactors and other ATS tools.
- Generate candidate lists, manage scoring, and support recruitment panels.
- Participate in interview sessions and provide administrative and technical support to panel members and candidates.
- Support approval processes for appointments and facilitate contract creation within SAP systems.
- Prepare offer letters for successful candidates and support onboarding documentation.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure strict adherence to recruitment policies, procedures, and ethical hiring standards.
- Provide regular recruitment updates, reports, and analysis to HR management.
- Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in recruitment or HR-related functions.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and coordination abilities.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems.
- Proven experience using ATS platforms or SAP SuccessFactors.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple recruitment processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
- Proficiency in one AU working language (English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, or Swahili); fluency in an additional AU language is an advantage.
