We are seeking a motivated and analytical Junior Program Officer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who is passionate about development, monitoring and evaluation, public policy, and program management. The successful candidate will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of programs that contribute to the African Union’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned programs and projects.
- Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting program data to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Contribute to the preparation of program reports, presentations, briefing notes, and other technical documentation.
- Support the development and monitoring of performance indicators and results frameworks.
- Assist in tracking program progress and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct research and analysis on development issues, policies, and emerging trends relevant to program objectives.
- Coordinate with internal departments, Member States, development partners, and other stakeholders as required.
- Support meetings, workshops, consultations, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of program activities and outcomes.
- Perform other program-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must possess:
- A University Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Demography, Public Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in program management, monitoring and evaluation, research, development planning, or a related field.

Language Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in at least one of the African Union’s official working languages:
- English
- French
- Portuguese
- Spanish
- Swahili
- Arabic
Fluency in an additional African Union working language will be considered an added advantage.
