We are seeking a proactive and community-focused Regional Community Moderator to support online engagement, strengthen user relationships, and help maintain a positive digital environment across our platform.

Position Summary

As the Regional Community Moderator, you will serve as a key link between the platform and its users within your region. You will encourage positive interactions, support community members, identify potential issues, and provide valuable insights that improve user experience and platform development.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with people, understands digital communities, and can work independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Promote positive, respectful, and meaningful engagement within the platform community.
  • Support new member onboarding by guiding users and helping them understand platform features.
  • Respond to member questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor community activities and identify inappropriate, harmful, or policy-violating behaviour.
  • Report issues and support the enforcement of community guidelines and platform policies.
  • Provide feedback on platform features, usability, and overall user experience.
  • Support community growth initiatives and engagement activities within your region.
  • Participate in scheduled platform evaluations, testing activities, and feedback sessions.
  • Collaborate with a distributed national team to improve community experiences.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle user information responsibly.
  • Contribute ideas that improve engagement, accessibility, and community satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally resident in Ghana.
  • Minimum educational qualification of SHS Certificate, Diploma, HND, Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in customer service, community management, social media management, online moderation, or volunteer leadership will be an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage enquiries, complaints, and conflict resolution effectively.
  • Basic digital literacy and confidence using smartphones, computers, web applications, and online communication tools.
  • Reliable internet access and access to a smartphone or computer suitable for online moderation activities.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and follow platform policies.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
  • Willingness to participate in onboarding, training, platform evaluations, and ongoing community engagement activities.
