Position Overview

World Vision Ghana is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Regional Senior Business Advisor to provide expert guidance on governance, risk management, internal controls, and operational effectiveness across the West Africa Region (WAR). This role is pivotal in strengthening organizational accountability, improving business processes, and advising senior leadership on complex operational and risk-related challenges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advisory support to senior leadership on governance, risk management, internal controls, and operational effectiveness.

  • Conduct thematic advisory reviews, control assessments, and business process evaluations, translating findings into actionable recommendations.

  • Partner with leadership teams to address complex business challenges, enhance internal controls, and strengthen accountability frameworks.

  • Design and facilitate training, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives on internal controls, risk management, and integrity systems.

  • Apply enterprise risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO ERM, ISO 31000) in a practical, mission-driven context.

  • Synthesize data and insights into clear, actionable reports and presentations for diverse stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA Standards) and uphold high ethical and professional standards.

  • Travel as required to support regional initiatives, up to 40% domestically and internationally.


Educational & Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional certification preferred (any of the following or equivalent):

    • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

    • Chartered Accountant (CA)

    • Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP)

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business advisory services, internal audit, risk management, or compliance, ideally in an international or multi-country context.

  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leadership and implementing internal control, risk management, and accountability frameworks.

  • Skilled in performing advisory reviews and translating complex findings into practical solutions.

  • Proficiency in delivering training and capacity-building initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and mission-driven organizations.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (Spanish a plus for Latin American regions).


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Can be based in any country within the WAR cluster portfolio.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% for regional assignments.

  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods and participate effectively in virtual meetings.
