Position Summary
The Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring guest rooms, corridors, and assigned areas are cleaned, maintained, and presented to the highest standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing guest satisfaction by providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment throughout the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Room Cleaning & Maintenance
- Clean and service guest rooms in accordance with hotel standards and procedures.
- Make beds, change linens, and replenish guest amenities and supplies.
- Dust, vacuum, mop, and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and assigned areas.
- Ensure all rooms are properly prepared and ready for guest occupancy.
- Inspect rooms for cleanliness, maintenance issues, and safety concerns.
- Report maintenance defects and repair requirements promptly.
Housekeeping Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in corridors, public areas, and housekeeping stations.
- Ensure housekeeping carts and storage areas are organized and adequately stocked.
- Handle guest requests promptly and professionally within assigned responsibilities.
- Follow daily work schedules and room assignment lists efficiently.
Quality & Guest Service
- Deliver housekeeping services that meet or exceed hotel quality standards.
- Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests through attention to detail.
- Respond courteously to guest inquiries and requests.
- Support efforts to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow hotel health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and materials safely and responsibly.
- Adhere to hotel policies, procedures, and housekeeping guidelines.
- Report safety hazards, lost-and-found items, and unusual incidents promptly.
Teamwork & Operational Support
- Collaborate effectively with fellow housekeeping staff and other hotel departments.
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure operational efficiency.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional housekeeping-related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements
- Senior High School Certificate, Vocational Training, Hospitality Certification, or equivalent qualification.
- Additional training in housekeeping or hospitality services will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience in housekeeping, room servicing, hospitality, hotel operations, or a related environment.
- Previous experience in a hotel, resort, guest house, or serviced apartment setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
