Job Summary

The Safety Officer will develop, implement, and monitor workplace health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and industry best practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, minimizing workplace risks, and supporting continuous improvement in occupational health and safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with relevant occupational health and safety legislation and company standards.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver safety inductions, training, and awareness programmes for employees.
• Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including drills and response plans.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and support compliance audits and inspections.
• Promote a positive safety culture through continuous engagement with employees and management.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Safety Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant IT tools.
• Good level of physical fitness.
• Sound knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry best practices.
