We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven, and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead our sales function and drive business expansion. The successful candidate will develop sales strategies, build strong market relationships, manage sales performance, and lead a high-performing sales team to achieve sustainable growth.

Position Summary

As the Sales Manager, you will develop and execute sales strategies that increase revenue, expand market presence, and strengthen customer relationships. You will lead business development initiatives, manage sales operations, build strategic partnerships, and guide the sales team to consistently achieve company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Business Development

As the Sales Manager, you will:

  • Develop and implement annual and quarterly sales plans aligned with the company’s business objectives.
  • Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, distribution channels, and growth opportunities.
  • Build strategic partnerships with farmers, agribusinesses, distributors, retailers, NGOs, government agencies, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Drive market expansion initiatives and strengthen the company’s presence within target markets.
  • Develop strategies to increase customer acquisition, revenue growth, and market share.

Sales Management

You will:

  • Lead the sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze results, and prepare accurate sales forecasts.
  • Manage the sales pipeline and ensure timely follow-up on leads, opportunities, and customer engagements.
  • Develop pricing, promotional, and sales improvement strategies in collaboration with management.
  • Identify sales challenges and implement solutions to improve performance.
  • Ensure effective execution of sales activities across assigned territories.

Customer Relationship Management

You will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Conduct customer visits and maintain regular communication with key accounts.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
  • Develop customer retention strategies that strengthen loyalty and long-term partnerships.
  • Gather customer feedback and provide insights to improve products, services, and sales approaches.

Team Leadership & Development

You will:

  • Recruit, train, coach, and supervise sales team members.
  • Set individual and team performance targets and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Motivate and support team members to achieve and exceed sales objectives.
  • Organize product knowledge sessions and sales skills development programmes.
  • Promote a performance-driven and collaborative sales culture.

Reporting & Administration

You will:

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales performance reports.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales reports, and business development information using CRM systems or other sales tools.
  • Manage sales budgets and monitor sales-related expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical sales practices, and operational procedures.
  • Provide management with insights and recommendations based on sales performance and market trends.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related discipline.
  • A postgraduate qualification or professional certification in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management will be an added advantage.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive sales experience, including at least two (2) years in a sales management role.
  • Proven experience developing and executing sales strategies.
  • Experience within agriculture, agribusiness, agro-inputs, food processing, or a related sector will be highly advantageous.
  • A strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing sales teams, customer relationships, and business development activities.
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales performance management tools.

Working Conditions

This role involves:

  • Working from the Accra office with frequent field visits.
  • Regular travel to customer locations, farms, distributors, and industry events.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work during exhibitions, trade fairs, promotional activities, or peak business periods.
