Role Overview

The Senior Assistant Marshal plays a critical role in maintaining security, order, and protocol within the Parliamentary precinct. This position requires experienced, disciplined, and strategic leaders who can apply military or police expertise to senior security management in a legislative environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage security operations within Parliament to ensure the safety of members, staff, and visitors

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor security personnel to maintain high standards of discipline and operational readiness

  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures in line with national and parliamentary standards

  • Coordinate with relevant security and law enforcement agencies on matters of intelligence, risk management, and incident response

  • Advise Parliamentary leadership on security strategy, threat assessment, and operational planning

  • Ensure compliance with parliamentary regulations, protocols, and standards

  • Participate in ceremonial and official functions, maintaining professional decorum and protocol

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in security and administrative operations


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must have attained a rank not below Major in the Ghana Armed Forces or Chief Superintendent in the Ghana Police Service

  • Must hold a Senior Division qualification from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College or its equivalent in the Ghana Police Service

  • Must possess a relevant Master’s degree in Security, Intelligence, or a related field

  • Must have been honorably discharged from the Ghana Armed Forces or Ghana Police Service

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior management position

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic security management skills

  • High integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public service
