Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Finance Manager to lead financial management, compliance, and reporting functions. The successful candidate will strengthen financial systems, ensure donor compliance, oversee audits, and support effective financial decision-making across programs and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across programs and country operations
- Oversee donor financial reporting and ensure compliance with donor regulations and contractual requirements
- Manage internal, external, and donor audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings
- Strengthen financial systems, processes, and internal controls to ensure efficiency and compliance
- Supervise and build capacity within the finance team to improve performance and technical capability
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Manage grant financial tracking, monitoring, and reporting in line with donor requirements
- Collaborate with program and operational teams to ensure accurate financial planning and execution
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and anti-fraud principles
- Translate complex financial data into clear insights for senior leadership and stakeholders
Qualifications & Requirements
- Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MPA, or related field) OR Bachelorโs degree with a recognized professional accounting qualification and relevant experience
- ACCA or CPA certification required
- Minimum of 10 yearsโ progressive experience leading finance or accounting teams
- Strong experience in international NGOs or donor-funded organizations preferred
- Proven expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, grant management, and donor reporting
- Experience with donors such as Global Fund, USAID, Unitaid, FCDO, or similar is an advantage
- Strong experience managing audits (internal, external, and donor) and financial compliance processes
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams, build capacity, and strengthen financial systems
- High proficiency in accounting systems and financial tools
- Advanced MS Excel skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
- Working knowledge of ERP systems; experience with QuickBooks required
- Knowledge of Unit4/Agresso is an added advantage
