Position Summary
The Senior Global Programs Director provides strategic leadership across Spark MicroGrants’ global programs portfolio. The role oversees program design, implementation, partnerships, and organizational performance across multiple regions. The successful candidate will lead senior teams, strengthen government and donor engagement, drive resource mobilization, and ensure high-impact delivery of rural development programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction, design, and execution of global programs across multiple country operations.
- Manage and mentor senior leaders, including Country Directors and equivalent leadership roles.
- Strengthen and expand partnerships with governments, donors, and strategic development partners.
- Drive policy engagement and influence national and international development agendas.
- Oversee program implementation quality, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and impact frameworks.
- Strengthen monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems across all programs.
- Oversee financial management, operational effectiveness, and grant compliance across portfolios.
- Lead and support resource mobilization efforts, including donor engagement and proposal development.
- Ensure strong project management practices with attention to detail and delivery excellence.
- Provide strategic oversight for rural development program design and scaling initiatives.
- Represent the organization at high-level global forums, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
- Foster organizational learning, innovation, and continuous improvement across programs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Economics, Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant professional experience in program implementation, partnership management, or organizational leadership.
- At least five (5) years of experience managing senior leaders (e.g., Country Directors or equivalent roles).
- Proven track record of successful government engagement and policy influence.
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex organizations or large-scale development programs.
- Strong background in monitoring and evaluation, finance, operations, and grant management.
- Proven success in designing and managing rural development or community-driven programs.
- Strong track record in resource mobilization and donor relationship management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
