Position: Senior Lecturer – Pathology / Laboratory Medicine
Location: Tema, Ghana (Miotso Campus)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary

Central University invites applications from qualified and committed academics and clinicians to join its Faculty of Health Sciences as Senior Lecturer in Pathology / Laboratory Medicine. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, clinical or laboratory training, and academic leadership within a collaborative and supportive academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Lecturer will:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lectures in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
  • Develop, review, and update curriculum content in line with academic and professional standards
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and dissertations
  • Conduct and publish research in reputable peer-reviewed journals
  • Participate actively in departmental administration and faculty governance
  • Mentor junior academic staff and support student academic development
  • Contribute to practical laboratory training and clinical teaching where applicable
  • Support academic quality assurance and accreditation processes

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following minimum requirements:

  • Hold a PhD in Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, or a closely related discipline, OR
  • Be a clinician with a Membership certificate from a recognised professional body, AND
  • Have a minimum of six (6) publications in peer-reviewed journals

Additional requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and research at tertiary level
  • Strong record of academic contribution and scholarly engagement
  • Evidence of leadership in academic or clinical settings will be an advantage
