Role Purpose

The SME Regional Sales Manager will lead the execution of Telecel Business sales strategies across the Ashanti, Bono, and Ahafo regions. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships within the SME and SOHO segments. This role requires a dynamic sales leader who can build high-performing teams, develop innovative go-to-market strategies, and deliver exceptional commercial results across mobile, broadband, fixed voice, and data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, lead, coach, and mentor Mobile, Fixed Broadband (FBB), and Fixed Voice & Data sales teams, including High Value Account Managers, Sales Contractors, and Freelancers within the SME and SOHO segments.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies targeting SMEs, SOHOs, gated communities, and commercial establishments to achieve Telecel Business objectives.
  • Drive team performance to consistently achieve sales, revenue, and commercial KPIs across all product portfolios.
  • Manage day-to-day sales operations and ensure adherence to business processes, operational standards, and service excellence.
  • Gather, analyze, and provide actionable market, trade, customer, and competitive intelligence to support management decision-making.
  • Contribute to product development initiatives, proof-of-concept activities, and go-to-market deployment plans for new business solutions.
  • Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports to the Regional Head, highlighting achievements, opportunities, and improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including Commercial Operations Partners (COPs), Consumer Business Unit (CBU), Functional Centres of Excellence (FCoE), and other business units to develop profitable commercial strategies.
  • Design and implement indirect channel and route-to-market strategies that maximize value from existing corporate and business relationships.
  • Lead customer engagements, conduct strategic account visits, and negotiate commercial agreements in line with Telecel Ghana’s business principles and service standards.
  • Champion innovation by identifying and implementing tools, systems, and processes that enhance FBB and Fixed Voice service delivery for SME customers.
  • Utilize industry trends, market insights, and competitor intelligence to develop differentiated sales approaches that increase market share, revenue, and profitability.
  • Coordinate sales and marketing activations that drive customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue growth.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Business Management, Commerce (B.Com), or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration (MBA) or an equivalent business-related discipline will be an added advantage.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in a mid-management sales or commercial leadership role.
  • Proven experience within the telecommunications industry or IT-related services environment.
  • Demonstrated success in managing customer-facing sales teams and high-value business accounts.
  • Strong experience in selling dedicated internet, broadband, fixed voice, fixed data, and mobile communication solutions.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales and marketing initiatives.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management capabilities.
  • Excellent sales planning, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
