TEAM LEAD, BUDGET & BUDGETARY CONTROL / TEAM LEAD, BALANCED SCORECARD (FULL-TIME)

Role Overview

FirstBank Ghana seeks a highly analytical and results-oriented Team Lead, Budget & Budgetary Control / Balanced Scorecard to lead budgeting, performance monitoring, and strategic execution tracking. You will drive financial discipline, strengthen performance measurement frameworks, and support management in achieving organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, coordination, and control of annual budgets across business units.
  • Monitor budget execution and ensure compliance with approved financial plans.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Balanced Scorecard frameworks to track organizational performance.
  • Analyze financial and non-financial performance indicators to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare timely budget performance reports and present insights to senior management.
  • Drive cost control initiatives and support efficiency improvement programs.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure alignment between budgets and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support forecasting and long-term financial planning processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • First Degree in a numerate discipline (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field preferred).
  • Professional accounting certification is an added advantage (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
  • Minimum of 7 years’ cumulative experience in banking or accounting practice.
  • At least 3 years of experience in performance monitoring, budgeting, or related functions.

  • Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills.
  • Solid understanding of performance management frameworks, including Balanced Scorecard.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate results within deadlines.
