Job Description

Trade Development Executive (Full-Time)

Location: Accra

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Trade Development Executive to drive sales growth, strengthen retail execution, and support market expansion initiatives. The ideal candidate will play a key role in executing trade marketing strategies, building relationships with retailers and distributors, and ensuring strong in-store brand visibility across key channels.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional with solid FMCG experience and deep knowledge of Ghana’s retail landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Commercial Execution

  • Drive daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets across assigned territories
  • Execute pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and bundle offers to maximize sales performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers, distributors, and channel partners
  • Negotiate effectively with trade partners to secure business growth opportunities
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify opportunities for expansion

Consumer & Market Insights

  • Gather real-time market intelligence from retailers and consumers
  • Provide feedback on pricing sensitivity, product acceptance, and packaging effectiveness
  • Identify consumer buying patterns and recommend improvements to sales and marketing strategies
  • Prepare market reports and share actionable insights with internal teams

Activation & Brand Development

  • Support and execute in-store activations, school promotions, and community engagement activities
  • Assist in driving early-stage brand awareness and consumer engagement initiatives
  • Ensure strong in-store product visibility through effective shelf placement, counter displays, and bundle positioning
  • Monitor activation performance and recommend improvements for future campaigns

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Identify fast-moving SKUs and high-performing promotional activities
  • Track trade execution performance and document key learnings to support future scale-up initiatives
  • Prepare regular sales and trade activity reports for management review

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4–8 years’ experience in FMCG sales, trade marketing, or commercial execution
  • Strong understanding of Ghana’s retail landscape, including pharmacies, kiosks, open markets, supermarkets, and major marketplaces
  • Proven ability to execute trade marketing initiatives and drive sales growth
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools
