Position Summary

Mac Engineering is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Vulcanizing Technician to support conveyor belt maintenance and repair operations. The successful candidate will perform vulcanizing activities, inspect conveyor systems, and ensure that all belt repairs and installations meet quality and safety standards to support uninterrupted operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hot and cold vulcanizing of conveyor belts and related components.
• Install, splice, repair, and maintain conveyor belts according to operational requirements.
• Inspect conveyor belt systems and identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
• Prepare work areas, tools, and materials required for vulcanizing operations.
• Ensure all vulcanizing work complies with company safety procedures and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed repairs.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to support equipment reliability.
• Conduct routine checks and recommend improvements to enhance conveyor belt performance.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency repair requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Technical Certificate, NVTI Certificate, Trade Test Certification, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in conveyor belt vulcanizing, belt splicing, and conveyor maintenance within mining, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of hot and cold vulcanizing techniques and procedures.
• Ability to operate vulcanizing equipment and related tools safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of conveyor belt systems, maintenance practices, and safety requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
