Position Overview

Jumia Ghana is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Sorting Centre Manager to lead operations at our sorting facilities. The role will focus on defining and executing strategies that optimize line-haul operations, maximize delivery efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the implementation of best practices across the network.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop the sorting centre team to achieve operational excellence.

  • Define and implement line-haul strategies to optimize delivery performance and reduce operational costs.

  • Manage forecasting, capacity planning, S&OP, and carrier negotiations to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.

  • Drive operational efficiency through process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other best practices.

  • Oversee network performance, analyze KPIs, and implement solutions to improve throughput and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, customer service, and finance to ensure smooth operations.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies.


Educational & Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Operations, or Supply Chain Management from an accredited institution.

  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Office (Expert-level Excel required) and Google Workspace.

  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and Lean manufacturing techniques is highly preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, or production environment, with a strong focus on logistics and supply chain optimization.

  • Expertise in transportation logistics network management, retail operations, and customer service priorities.

  • Hands-on experience in forecasting, capacity planning, S&OP, carrier negotiations, and delivery performance optimization.

  • Proven ability to manage complex networks and drive large-scale operational strategies.
