Company Profile

The National Identification Authority (NIA) is responsible for the registration of citizens and residents and the issuance of secure national identity cards (Ghana Card). The Authority plays a key role in strengthening national identity management systems to support governance, security, and service delivery.


Job Purpose

The Card Verification Officer (CVO) ensures the accurate verification and secure issuance of Ghana Cards to applicants. The role focuses on maintaining strict compliance with verification protocols, safeguarding card materials, and delivering a professional and welcoming service experience at the registration centre.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify applicant details and issue printed Ghana Cards in accordance with established verification protocols and procedures.

  • Manage and ensure proper handling of all identity card resources, including blank and printed cards, ribbons, laminates, and related materials.

  • Operate and maintain the printer server connected to the card printer and enrolment system at the Registration Centre.

  • Adhere strictly to NIA card issuance standards, processes, and operational guidelines.

  • Account for the usage of ID card materials and equipment on a daily basis and at the end of the registration period, and hand them over to the RO for safekeeping.

  • Ensure the safety, security, and proper handling of all registration materials and equipment assigned to the centre.

  • Maintain all equipment and logistics in good working condition for subsequent registration activities.

  • Support end-of-day procedures, including organizing and tidying the Registration Centre.

  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Executive Secretary or authorized representatives through supervising officials or the RO.


Educational Requirements

  • Minimum of a Diploma or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Relevant experience in data verification, administrative support, or ICT operations is an added advantage.
