Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Risk Assistant Manager to join our team in Accra. The successful candidate will lead credit risk assessment initiatives, develop advanced models, and provide expert advisory services to clients in the financial sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and validate credit risk models in line with IFRS 9, Basel II, and IAS39 frameworks.

  • Perform financial modeling, including Probability of Default (PD), Exposure at Default (EAD), and Loss Given Default (LGD).

  • Build, refine, and deploy IFRS 9 models for retail and corporate credit portfolios.

  • Provide technical insights on financial services regulations and ensure compliance with Regulation 23, IAS39, and IFRS 9.

  • Analyze credit risk exposure and prepare reports for internal and client use.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize risk management processes.

  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: BSc Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative/Financial Engineering, or Actuarial Science.

  • Experience: 5–8 years in credit risk within a bank or consultancy. Retail credit risk experience is preferred.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Financial modeling and technical knowledge of PD, EAD, LGD, Basel II, and IAS39

    • Experience in building and developing IFRS 9 models

    • Programming and coding skills in SAS, VBA, Matlab, R, and Python

    • Knowledge of financial services regulations and their application (Regulation 23, IAS39, IFRS 9 at intermediate level)
