Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Carpentry Trainer / Facilitator to deliver engaging and practical training sessions. The successful candidate will guide trainees in developing technical carpentry skills, ensure adherence to safety standards, and support learners in achieving competence for the workplace.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured carpentry training (theoretical and practical) aligned with industry standards
  • Develop lesson plans, training modules, and instructional materials
  • Demonstrate carpentry techniques, tools, and safe work practices
  • Supervise workshop activities and ensure proper handling of tools and equipment
  • Assess trainee performance through practical tasks and written evaluations
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and constructive feedback to learners
  • Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and materials in good condition
  • Enforce health and safety standards within the training environment
  • Monitor, document, and report on trainee progress and outcomes

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma, HND, or Degree in Carpentry, Wood Technology, Building Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant technical certification (e.g., NVTI, COTVET, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on carpentry experience (training or facilitation experience is an advantage)
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong organizational and assessment skills
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail
