Position: Service Manager
Location: Accra

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Service Manager to oversee workshop operations, lead service teams, and ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality automotive services. The ideal candidate will drive performance, maintain compliance with OEM standards, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction while achieving business targets.


Key Responsibilities

Operational & Financial Management

  • Achieve budgeted service and labour revenue targets
  • Ensure maximum efficiency of hours worked versus hours sold
  • Maintain effective control of cash outstanding and workshop revenue
  • Ensure no vehicle leaves the workshop without payment authorization
  • Oversee accurate and timeous costing and warranty claims processing

Customer Service & Business Growth

  • Satisfy, meet, and exceed customer expectations through efficient repairs and service delivery
  • Attend to and resolve customer queries within required timelines
  • Contact existing and potential customers to generate additional business
  • Maintain high Customer Experience (CE) levels at all times

Team Leadership & Workshop Supervision

  • Supervise and manage service center personnel effectively
  • Maintain staff morale and provide coaching and counseling where necessary
  • Enforce discipline and maintain industrial relations standards
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure proper documentation of minutes

Technical & Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure all work is completed according to OEM and franchise standards
  • Oversee OEM warranty and R&M claims processes
  • Maintain and update technical knowledge across the team
  • Minimize unproductive time and improve workshop productivity
  • Liaise with parts department regarding outstanding orders and customer updates

Health, Safety & Environmental Standards

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop environment in line with OHS requirements
  • Ensure compliance with environmental standards and audit requirements
  • Ensure trained Health & Safety Representatives, Fire Marshals, and First Aiders are in place
  • Maintain adherence to environmental audit checklists and factory standards

Quality & Administration

  • Ensure proper control procedures for all vehicles booked into the workshop
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards across all service areas
  • Ensure manufacturer reporting and internal documentation are completed timeously
  • Ensure all warranty parts are correctly returned and documented
  • Conduct regular oil dip reporting and operational monitoring

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must have:

  • Grade 12 / Equivalent qualification
  • Strong technical and administrative skills
  • Customer relations knowledge and experience
  • Clean criminal record
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • OEM experience with warranted and R&M claims (essential)
  • Strong understanding of Environmental Health & Safety practices
  • Previous experience in the motor industry (essential)
