Role Overview

The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will lead the financial strategy, risk management, and treasury operations of the Bank. This executive role demands strategic oversight, sound financial judgment, and active participation in shaping the Bank’s growth, sustainability, and development finance initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the Bank’s financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage financial risk and ensure the institution’s financial stability, liquidity, and capital adequacy.
  • Oversee treasury operations, equity/capital markets activities, and fixed income management.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, reporting standards, and governance requirements.
  • Provide strategic advice to the Board and Executive Management on financial planning, investments, and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial management systems, reporting, and controls.
  • Represent the Bank in industry forums, financial institutions, and regulatory engagements.
  • Foster a high-performing finance team through mentorship, professional development, and leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in finance, development finance, or financial services, including at least 8 years in an Executive Management role.
  • Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Financial Management, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Professional certification and full membership of local, regional, or international associations (e.g., ICAG, ACCA, CFA).
  • Additional qualification or experience in Development Finance is advantageous.
  • Proven track record as a CFO or in senior financial management roles.
  • Substantial experience in development banking, financial risk management, and treasury operations.
  • Expertise in international finance, capital markets, fixed income, and liquidity management.
  • Strong industry engagement and knowledge of the development finance ecosystem.
