ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer – Telecom Mast & Towers to join our team in Accra. In this role, you will lead the design, analysis, and supervision of telecom tower infrastructure while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will play a critical role in supporting network expansion and maintaining structural integrity across all installations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & DECISION OWNERSHIP
- Perform structural analysis and design of telecom masts and towers, including lattice towers, monopoles, and guyed masts.
- Design tower foundations considering Ghanaian soil conditions, wind loads, and environmental factors.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, engineering drawings, and technical documentation for approvals.
- Ensure compliance with the Ghana Building Code, local authority requirements, and telecom industry standards.
- Review and approve shop drawings, fabrication details, and engineering submissions.
- Supervise tower erection, foundation construction, and structural installations on-site.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Assess existing telecom infrastructure for upgrades, strengthening, and co-location opportunities.
- Provide technical support during audits, maintenance, and upgrade projects.
- Coordinate effectively with civil, electrical, and RF engineers, contractors, and telecom partners.
- Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, regulators, and local authorities.
- Prepare, update, and maintain accurate project documentation, including site progress reports and inventory records.
- Manage and document change requests, ensuring alignment with all stakeholders and proper approvals.
- Update the Towerco database to reflect all approved structural changes and maintain data accuracy.
- Verify that all tower installations meet required safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (Structural option).
- Professional registration with the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), or eligibility for registration, is an advantage.
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in structural design and supervision, preferably in telecom tower projects.
- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structural systems.
- Experience with telecom tower design standards (e.g., TIA, Eurocodes, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ASM Towers, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, and AutoCAD.
- Solid understanding of wind loading, soil-structure interaction, and foundation design principles.
- Ability to work on remote sites across Ghana as required.
- Strong technical reporting, analytical, and documentation skills.
