Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced mechanical professional who will supervise maintenance and refurbishment activities within the processing plant. The ideal candidate will ensure asset reliability, drive maintenance excellence, and support continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Supervisor – Process Plant, you will:
- Ensure full compliance with Ghanaian regulations, environmental, health and safety legislation, and company policies.
- Participate in maintenance review programs and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to improve equipment reliability.
- Enforce adherence to the site Environmental Management Plan in all maintenance activities.
- Supervise mechanical installation, refurbishment, and maintenance work in line with engineering standards and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with contractors to ensure work aligns with approved plans, schedules, and operational expectations.
- Conduct routine audits of plant areas to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
- Support the development and implementation of condition monitoring and inspection programs.
- Maintain and improve the reliability of fixed plant assets, including crushers, conveyors, pumps, SAG and ball mills, screens, feeders, cranes, cyclones, and tanks.
- Identify substandard practices, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize maintenance management systems to support planning, execution, and performance monitoring.
- Support shutdown planning and execution to ensure safe and efficient completion of maintenance activities.
- Monitor asset condition and report defects, risks, and performance issues.
- Coordinate contractors to meet timelines and proactively manage risks and delays.
- Prepare and submit accurate reports on maintenance performance, costs, and schedules.
- Support budgeting processes and drive cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives.
- Monitor asset health systems and address early signs of equipment failure.
- Report operational risks and support improvement projects across the plant.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, preferably in a metallurgical or mineral processing plant.
- Valid Inspecting Engineer’s Certificate of Competency from the Minerals Commission of Ghana.
- Proven experience in maintenance and project management within processing plant environments.
- Strong knowledge of asset management systems and maintenance best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
