Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Training Specialist to design, deliver, and manage training programs within our mineral processing operations. In this role, you will build technical capability across plant operations, ensure competency compliance, and support continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Training Design & Delivery

  • Develop and deliver structured training programs for mineral processing operations, including crushing, grinding, thickening, dewatering, and tailings management
  • Conduct induction and refresher training in line with regulatory and operational requirements
  • Translate complex technical processes into clear, practical, and accessible training materials
  • Deliver competency-based training for plant operators and technical teams
  • Continuously review and update training content to reflect operational changes and best practices

Competency & Performance Development

  • Assess employee competency through practical demonstrations and written evaluations
  • Coach and mentor employees to strengthen technical knowledge and performance
  • Supervise trainees to ensure readiness, compliance, and operational competency
  • Support on-boarding and induction programs for new employees and contractors

Training Administration & Compliance

  • Prepare and manage training schedules and monthly training reports
  • Maintain accurate training records, competency matrices, and compliance documentation
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with operational teams
  • Ensure alignment of training programs with regulatory and internal compliance standards

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and safety teams to identify training needs
  • Support safety initiatives and contribute to incident reduction through targeted training interventions
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all training activities
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within processing operations

Qualification Required & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mining processing plant or mineral processing environment
  • Proven experience delivering technical or competency-based training in industrial or mining settings
  • Strong understanding of plant operations, process control, and safety systems
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training documentation tools

  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for practical application
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
