We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Mine Production Engineer to join our team and provide technical leadership in optimizing mining operations, improving productivity, and achieving production targets safely and efficiently.

Position Overview

The Senior Mine Production Engineer will oversee and coordinate key mining production activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and ore delivery operations. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance to operational teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

The role requires a strong understanding of open-pit mining operations, production optimization, and cost-effective mining practices.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Mine Production Engineer will:

• Coordinate drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and ore delivery activities to achieve production targets.
• Provide technical support, coaching, and guidance to production supervisors and operators.
• Monitor haulage fleet performance and implement strategies to improve equipment productivity.
• Promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with occupational health, environmental, and operational standards.
• Optimize blasting parameters to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
• Monitor production performance, analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare and present production reports, operational updates, and performance reviews to leadership as directed.
• Monitor grade control activities and support ore reconciliation processes.
• Encourage teamwork, accountability, and a high-performance culture within the production team.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Mine Production Engineer in an open-pit mining environment, including at least two (2) years in a senior-level role.
• A valid Minerals Commission certificate as a recognized Mine Production Engineer.
• A Minerals Commission Mine Captain certificate will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of mining equipment, production processes, and operational systems.
• Experience in budgeting, cost control, and production optimization.
• Technical expertise in drill-and-blast operations, loading, haulage, and ore handling systems.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
• Working knowledge of the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703) and related mining regulations.
• A valid Ghanaian driver’s licence and the ability to operate safely in rough terrain environments.
