We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Development Officer to drive growth, strengthen client relationships, and expand our insurance portfolio.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Business Development Officer will play a key role in expanding the company’s insurance business by identifying new opportunities, acquiring high-value clients, and managing strategic partnerships. The role requires a proactive professional with strong commercial acumen and a consultative approach to client engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify, prospect, and secure new corporate and high-net-worth clients to grow the company’s insurance portfolio
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets
- Promote and cross-sell the company’s full range of insurance products and services
- Prepare and deliver tailored insurance proposals and solutions to prospective clients
Client Relationship Management
- Build and sustain strong relationships with corporate clients, insurers, and strategic partners
- Provide expert advisory support to clients on insurance coverage options and risk management solutions
- Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and retention through consistent engagement and service excellence
Market Intelligence & Opportunity Identification
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, new prospects, and business opportunities
- Monitor competitor activities and recommend strategies to enhance market positioning and competitiveness
Collaboration & Coordination
- Collaborate with underwriting and technical teams to design and deliver competitive insurance solutions
- Liaise with insurers to obtain quotations, negotiate favorable terms, and finalize coverage arrangements
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Prepare periodic business development and performance reports for management review
- Track sales pipeline activities, client engagements, and revenue performance against targets
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field
- Professional qualification in Insurance or Marketing (e.g., ACII, CIIG, CIM, Diploma) is an added advantage
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in insurance marketing, business development, or brokerage
- Proven track record in client acquisition, relationship management, and revenue generation
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to build and sustain long-term client and insurer relationships
