Role Overview

The Dispensing Technician plays a vital role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services. The role involves accurate medication dispensing, inventory management, and patient interaction, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while contributing to a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret prescriptions, assemble medications, and label them in accordance with established clinical guidelines.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct routine inventory checks, and ensure proper storage of medications, including vaccines and other temperature-sensitive products.
• Provide clear and professional guidance to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications and ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
• Use pharmacy management systems to process prescriptions, manage orders, and maintain up-to-date patient records.

Qualifications and Experience

• Higher National Diploma (HND) in Dispensing Technology is required.
• Prior experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting is an advantage.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
