Position Overview

AngloGold Ashanti Limited seeks a skilled Technician, Mechanical – LV to support the maintenance and repair of light vehicle (LV) fleets and mechanical equipment. The role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and efficient operation within mining environments.

The successful candidate will apply strong technical expertise to diagnose faults, perform repairs, and contribute to maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair light vehicles and mechanical equipment
• Diagnose faults and carry out timely corrective and preventive maintenance
• Ensure all mechanical work complies with safety and operational standards
• Conduct routine servicing and inspections to maintain equipment reliability
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on equipment performance
• Adhere strictly to Ghana Minerals and Mining Health, Safety, and Technical Regulations
• Support safe lifting and crane operations where required
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workshop operations
• Identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions

Educational Qualifications

• Secondary or Technical education level
• Certificate of successful completion of a recognized auto-mechanical trade apprenticeship (e.g., City & Guilds)
• National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) Grade 1 certification
• Valid driving and/or equipment operating license

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years post-apprenticeship experience in auto-mechanical trade
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety, and Technical) Regulations
• Experience working in an underground mining environment is an advantage

Knowledge & Skills

Technical Competencies

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Full competence in auto-mechanical trade practices
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Knowledge of safe crane operation is an advantage

Legal Requirements

• Valid MINCOM (Minerals Commission) Certificate
