Job Summary
The Fleet Manager oversees the efficient operation, maintenance, and performance of FanMilk’s distribution fleet. The role ensures optimal vehicle utilization, cost control, and compliance with safety and transport regulations while supporting timely product distribution across the network.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily operations of the FMCG distribution fleet, including trucks, vans, and cold-chain vehicles
- Monitor fleet performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules to ensure operational efficiency
- Supervise drivers and support staff, ensuring effective task allocation and performance management
- Analyze fleet data to identify inefficiencies and implement cost-saving and performance improvement measures
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime
- Investigate breakdowns, accidents, and operational inefficiencies, applying root-cause analysis
- Ensure full compliance with road transport laws, occupational health, and safety standards
- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely and efficient product distribution
- Maintain accurate fleet records, reports, and documentation for management review
- Promote safe driving practices and continuous driver training programs
Qualifications and Requirements
- Current and valid Class B driver’s license (mandatory)
- Proven experience managing large FMCG distribution fleets (trucks, vans, and cold-chain vehicles)
- Strong ability to analyze fleet performance, fuel usage, and maintenance data
- Demonstrated leadership experience in supervising teams and managing performance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of vehicle mechanics (engines, brakes, tires, hydraulics, etc.)
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and road transport laws
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root-cause analysis
- High level of organizational and decision-making ability
