Role Purpose

The Experienced Surface Logger provides accurate geological data and real-time analysis to support drilling operations. The role ensures high-quality logging, reporting, and communication with clients and rig personnel, while maintaining strict adherence to safety and operational standards.

You will play a critical role at the wellsite, acting as a key technical resource and the primary point of contact for geological data interpretation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Geological Logging & Reporting

• Create, interpret, and submit accurate geological logs and reports in a timely manner.
• Monitor drilling parameters and analyse formation data to support operational decision-making.
• Maintain high standards of data quality and reporting consistency.

Client Engagement

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding geological data and reporting.
• Communicate findings clearly and professionally to client representatives and rig supervisors.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships on-site.

Technical Operations & Support

• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting in the event of equipment failure.
• Ensure proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of logging equipment.
• Collaborate with rig teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Adhere strictly to rig safety standards and industry regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all operational procedures.
• Participate in safety briefings, risk assessments, and emergency response activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Postgraduate degree in Geology or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surface Logger on drilling rigs, including exposure to exploration and complex environments.
• Strong understanding of drilling operations and rig processes.
• Proven knowledge of safety regulations and best practices within the oil and gas industry.
• Experience working in high-pressure, remote, or offshore environments is an advantage.
