Role Purpose

The Medical Doctor provides comprehensive clinical care and promotes the health and well-being of students, staff, and the wider university community. The role involves diagnosing and treating medical conditions, offering preventive care, and supporting health education initiatives within the institution.

You will deliver patient-centred care while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Patient Management

• Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of medical conditions.
• Provide outpatient and, where applicable, emergency medical care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical documentation.

Preventive Health & Wellness

• Promote preventive healthcare through screenings, immunisations, and health education.
• Support public health initiatives and wellness programmes within the university.

Institutional Support

• Collaborate with university management to ensure effective delivery of health services.
• Provide medical advice and support for institutional health policies and procedures.

Compliance & Professional Standards

• Adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards governing medical practice.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and national healthcare regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

• MB ChB or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Full registration and good standing with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council.
• Successful completion of housemanship.
• Relevant practice experience, preferably within an institutional or similar healthcare setting.
