Role Overview

The Accountant will manage daily financial operations, maintain accurate financial records, and support reporting processes. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with accounting standards while supporting effective financial decision-making within a retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including sales, purchases, and expenses.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements, cash reports, and general ledger entries.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Reconcile inventory and sales records in coordination with retail operations teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and accounting standards.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and support audit processes.
  • Collaborate with management to provide insights on financial performance.
  • Use accounting software and reporting tools to maintain accurate financial data.

Qualifications & Experience

  • HND or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper.
  • Experience in retail, wholesale, or home appliance environments is an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and retail financial operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
