Position Summary

Bolgatanga Technical University seeks dynamic, research-oriented, and highly qualified academics to join its faculty as Professors, Associate Professors, Senior Lecturers, and Lecturers across multiple disciplines.

Successful candidates will contribute to teaching, research, curriculum development, innovation, community engagement, and institutional growth while supporting the University’s mission of delivering industry-relevant education and applied scientific research.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences within assigned academic disciplines.
• Develop and review curricula, course materials, and instructional resources.
• Conduct practical, applied, and industry-relevant research.
• Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and academic activities.
• Publish scholarly research and contribute to academic innovation.
• Participate in departmental, faculty, and institutional committees and activities.
• Support community engagement, industry collaboration, and institutional development initiatives.
• Mentor and guide students to achieve academic and professional excellence.
• Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement within the University.

Qualifications & Experience

Professors / Associate Professors

Applicants seeking appointment as Professor or Associate Professor must:

• Possess a terminal degree (PhD) in a relevant field of specialization.
• Have attained the rank of Professor or Associate Professor from a recognized tertiary institution at the time of application.
• Have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience serving as Professor or Associate Professor.
• Demonstrate evidence of practical and applied scientific research and industry-related innovation.
• Demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research.
• Membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.

Senior Lecturers

Applicants seeking appointment as Senior Lecturer must:

• Possess a terminal degree (PhD) in the relevant field of specialization.
• Have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience serving as a Senior Lecturer.
• Demonstrate evidence of practical and applied scientific research and industry-related innovation.
• Demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research.

Lecturers

Applicants seeking appointment as Lecturer must:

• Possess a terminal degree (PhD) in a relevant subject area.
• Demonstrate strong academic and research potential.
• Post-qualification teaching experience at a recognized tertiary institution will be an added advantage.
