Job Summary

Northern Ashanti Mines Limited seeks a highly experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Superintendent to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE systems across site operations. The successful candidate will strengthen safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive risk management and environmental performance within a dynamic mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE management systems across all mining operations.
• Ensure compliance with national regulations, MINCOM requirements, and company safety standards.
• Develop and enforce proactive risk management strategies to minimize operational hazards.
• Lead incident investigations using structured methodologies (e.g., ICAM) and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Conduct HSE audits, inspections, and performance monitoring across operational sites.
• Drive environmental management initiatives and ensure compliance with sustainability requirements.
• Strengthen safety culture through training, coaching, and stakeholder engagement.
• Analyse HSE data and prepare reports to support informed management decision-making.
• Collaborate with operational teams to integrate safety into daily mining activities.
• Ensure effective emergency preparedness and response systems are maintained and tested regularly.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years’ progressive HSE experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Must be MINCOM certified or eligible for certification up to Superintendent level.
• Additional certifications in Risk Management, Incident Investigation (e.g., ICAM), or Environmental Management will be an added advantage.

• Strong understanding of proactive risk management systems and HSE auditing processes.

• Proficiency in modern HSE reporting systems, analytics, and performance monitoring tools.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Strong planning, organisational, and project management abilities.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
