Key Responsibilities
As the Accountant, you will:
- Record and maintain all financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts for decision-making.
- Perform bank, cash, supplier, and other account reconciliations.
- Monitor company expenses and ensure all transactions are properly documented and authorized.
- Support budgeting activities, cash flow monitoring, and financial planning initiatives.
- Ensure the timely filing and payment of VAT, PAYE, SSNIT, corporate taxes, and other statutory obligations.
- Liaise with auditors, banks, regulatory authorities, and other external stakeholders as required.
- Maintain an organized and secure filing system for financial records and supporting documentation.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of accounting processes, policies, and internal controls.
- Track, monitor, and reconcile logistics-related expenses, including fuel, transportation, maintenance, and operational costs.
- Ensure supplier payments, recurring bills, and other financial obligations are settled promptly.
- Assist management with financial analysis and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and cost management.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three (3) years of practical accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, accounting practices, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- A professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAG) or active pursuit of one will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Availability to commence work immediately.
