We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our growing team. Position Summary

The Junior Mechanical Project Engineer will support the planning, design, execution, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects. The successful candidate will contribute to engineering analysis, technical documentation, equipment assessments, and project coordination activities while developing practical experience in engineering standards, asset integrity management, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the development of mechanical engineering designs and technical solutions for active project assignments.
  • Assist in preparing engineering calculations, design analyses, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Participate in project planning, execution, and monitoring activities to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Support asset integrity assessments and condition monitoring programs for mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Review vendor documentation, equipment data sheets, technical drawings, and engineering submittals for compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist with engineering evaluations of rotating equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, and fluid handling systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to support project objectives and technical deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, engineering records, and technical reports.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities where required.
  • Ensure engineering work complies with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work under the guidance and supervision of senior engineers while progressively developing technical competence and professional responsibility.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering quality, safety, and project performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of project and business objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

Experience

  • Zero (0) to three (3) years of relevant experience in engineering, oil and gas, power generation, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Industrial attachment, internship experience, or site-based engineering exposure will be highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated interest in mechanical systems, engineering projects, and technical problem-solving.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate should possess:

Engineering Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of fluid systems, mechanical equipment, and engineering fundamentals.
  • Understanding of rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and equipment documentation.
  • Basic understanding of asset integrity management and condition monitoring principles.

Design and Software Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent engineering design software.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Industry Standards

  • Familiarity with international engineering standards and codes, including:
    • ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)
    • API (American Petroleum Institute)
    • ISO (International Organization for Standardization)

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Ability to identify engineering issues and contribute to practical solutions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy.

Communication and Teamwork

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to learn from experienced professionals and contribute positively to project teams.
