We are seeking a responsible and service-oriented Lamp Room Attendant to support mining operations by ensuring the proper management, control, and maintenance of lamp room equipment and related safety gear.

Role Purpose

You will manage the issuing, receiving, cleaning, charging, and maintenance of mining lamps and associated safety equipment. You will ensure that all equipment is properly accounted for and ready for safe operational use at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Issue and receive cap lamps, batteries, and self-rescue equipment to authorized personnel
• Maintain accurate records of all equipment issued and returned
• Clean, charge, and inspect lamps and batteries to ensure full functionality
• Monitor equipment condition and report faults or damages promptly
• Maintain proper storage and organization of lamp room equipment
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational standards
• Support inventory checks and assist in stock reconciliation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lamp room environment
• Coordinate with supervisors to ensure timely availability of equipment for shifts
• Follow all health, safety, and mining regulations at all times

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in a relevant field
• Previous experience in mining support services or equipment handling is an advantage but not mandatory
• Appointment will be on a 1-year contract, subject to renewal based on performance
