Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Assistant Manager / Supervisor (Printing) to support the effective management of our printing operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining product quality standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading teams to achieve departmental objectives.

This role requires strong technical expertise in printing operations, quality management, process optimization, and people leadership within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Process Control & Production Management

  • Ensure the smooth operation of printing machines and the achievement of daily production targets.
  • Support the Printing Manager in overseeing departmental operations and workflow management.
  • Monitor production activities to ensure adherence to approved processes and operational standards.
  • Ensure all printing and slitting jobs are completed according to approved specifications and customer requirements.
  • Maintain high production efficiency while minimizing waste and operational losses.
  • Monitor shift performance and ensure daily production goals and key performance indicators are achieved.
  • Support machine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and equipment care activities.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in internal audits, training programs, and the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicate production and quality performance metrics to team members.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure products consistently meet established quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, safety procedures, GMP requirements, and quality management systems.
  • Perform routine quality control checks and monitor production quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Support new product development initiatives and provide technical assistance where required.
  • Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce customer complaints.
  • Contribute to maintaining compliance within ISO-certified quality management environments.

People Management & Resource Utilization

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate production teams to achieve operational objectives.
  • Ensure the effective utilization of manpower, machinery, and production resources.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and support employee development initiatives.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assist with manpower planning and workforce scheduling in line with productivity targets and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and communication.
  • Support departmental budgeting and cost-control initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent qualification in Printing Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience

  • Proven experience in printing operations, flexible packaging manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
  • Experience supervising production teams within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards, and operational controls.
  • Experience working within GMP and ISO quality management systems environments will be highly advantageous.
