Position Summary
The Logistics Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the logistics function while helping to maintain accurate records, coordinate logistics activities, and support workplace safety and compliance initiatives. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring efficient supply chain operations and maintaining high standards of operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Administration
- Provide administrative support for logistics and supply chain operations.
- Prepare, organize, update, and maintain logistics documentation and operational records.
- Coordinate documentation related to inventory movements, deliveries, transportation activities, and dispatch processes.
- Ensure accurate filing, storage, and retrieval of logistics records and reports.
- Support shipment tracking activities and assist in maintaining operational schedules.
- Monitor logistics documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Security Monitoring & Compliance
- Conduct regular inspections and monitoring activities within assigned operational areas.
- Observe workplace activities and promptly report security concerns, unusual incidents, or potential risks.
- Maintain accurate records of visitors, contractors, and security-related incidents.
- Support the enforcement of company safety, security, and operational policies.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and security breaches in accordance with established procedures.
- Promote a safe and secure working environment for employees, visitors, and stakeholders.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare routine reports on logistics activities, operational performance, and security observations.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted within required timelines.
- Support data collection and reporting activities to facilitate operational decision-making.
Operational Support
- Collaborate with internal departments to support efficient day-to-day operations.
- Assist with inventory control, stock monitoring, and supply chain coordination activities.
- Support warehouse, transportation, and logistics functions as required.
- Participate in operational improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Procurement and Supply Chain Management
- Business Administration
- Operations Management
- Or a related field from a recognized institution
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in:
- Logistics Administration
- Supply Chain Operations
- Inventory Management
- Security Operations
- Warehouse or Distribution Support
- Related operational roles
- Experience within a manufacturing, agro-processing, logistics, warehousing, or industrial environment will be an advantage.

Working Conditions
