Position Summary

The Head of IT will provide strategic and operational leadership for all technology functions within the organization. The role will drive digital transformation, ensure robust IT infrastructure, strengthen cybersecurity posture, and align technology initiatives with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic IT Leadership & Planning

• Develop and execute the organization’s IT strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives and drive enterprise systems modernization.
• Advise executive management on emerging technologies, innovation opportunities, and IT investments.
• Develop and maintain long-term technology roadmaps that support business growth and competitiveness.
• Establish IT governance frameworks and ensure adherence to industry best practices.

IT Operations & Infrastructure Management

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and enterprise applications.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal performance of all IT systems and services.
• Lead the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Monitor IT service delivery and ensure compliance with agreed service levels.
• Manage cloud infrastructure, digital platforms, and enterprise systems.

Cybersecurity, Risk Management & Compliance

• Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and controls to protect organizational data and systems.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and industry standards.
• Lead risk assessment processes and implement mitigation strategies.
• Strengthen information security governance and incident response capabilities.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead and develop a high-performing IT team through coaching and performance management.
• Collaborate with business units to understand technology needs and deliver effective solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party IT service providers.
• Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the IT function.

Educational Requirements

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following or related fields:

• Computer Science
• Information Technology
• Management Information Systems (MIS)
• Computer Engineering
• Information Systems

Preferred Qualification

• Master’s Degree in:
  • Business Administration (MBA)
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems
  • Or a related discipline

Professional Certifications (Highly Desirable)

Candidates with any of the following certifications will have an added advantage:

• CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
• PMP (Project Management Professional)
• ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
• COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies)
• Relevant Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, Oracle, or equivalent certifications

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in Information Technology management.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role overseeing enterprise IT functions.
• Proven experience managing large-scale IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and complex technology projects.
• Experience in insurance, banking, financial services, telecommunications, or similar corporate environments will be an advantage.
