Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our Early Years Department and ensure the delivery of outstanding early childhood education. This role requires a dynamic leader who is committed to educational excellence, team development, and the holistic growth and wellbeing of young learners.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Department Management
- Provide effective leadership and strategic direction for the Early Years Department.
- Lead, motivate, mentor, and support Early Years educators to achieve high standards of teaching and learning.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional working culture.
- Manage staff performance, development plans, and continuous professional learning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Curriculum & Learning Excellence
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a high-quality Early Years curriculum.
- Ensure the effective delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and other relevant international curricula.
- Monitor teaching practices and learning outcomes to maintain excellence across the department.
- Promote innovative, child-centred teaching approaches that support holistic development.
- Ensure learning environments are engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
Safeguarding & Child Welfare
- Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, child protection, health, and safety.
- Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are effectively implemented and regularly reviewed.
- Promote children’s wellbeing and create a safe, nurturing environment that supports emotional, social, and academic growth.
- Address welfare concerns promptly and in accordance with established safeguarding protocols.
Parent & Community Engagement
- Build strong and positive relationships with parents and guardians.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding children’s progress, development, and wellbeing.
- Organize parent engagement activities, meetings, and workshops.
- Foster a strong sense of community and partnership between home and school.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Monitor departmental performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with educational standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices in Early Years education.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Support school inspections, audits, and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience within an international Early Years educational setting.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience leading or managing a Nursery or Early Years Department.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and international curricula.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive educational excellence, and foster a positive learning culture.
- Proven experience in safeguarding, curriculum leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
