We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and student-focused English (First Language) Teacher to join our academic team in Accra.

Position Summary

The English (First Language) Teacher will deliver high-quality instruction in English Language and Literature, fostering strong literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills. The role requires excellence in classroom delivery, student engagement, and curriculum implementation within an international education setting.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging English (First Language) lessons aligned with international curriculum standards.
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that support reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
  • Promote analytical thinking, creativity, and effective communication through literature and language study.
  • Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning outcomes.

Classroom Management & Student Engagement

  • Maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Foster active participation and a strong interest in English language and literature.
  • Support learners with varying abilities to achieve academic success.
  • Build strong relationships with students to enhance motivation and performance.

Assessment & Reporting

  • Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and achievement.
  • Maintain accurate records of academic performance and development.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Contribute to school reporting systems and academic evaluations.

Collaboration & Professional Development

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and teaching quality.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development programs.
  • Support school-wide initiatives that promote literacy and academic excellence.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in a recognized international school.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • Cambridge-certified teachers will be given preference.
  • Experience teaching Cambridge or international curricula is an advantage.
