We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and student-centered Biology Teacher to join our academic team in Accra.

Position Summary

The Biology Teacher will deliver engaging, inquiry-based science instruction that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of biological concepts. The role requires strong instructional skills, effective classroom leadership, and a commitment to student success in an international learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver high-quality Biology lessons aligned with international curriculum standards.
• Develop lesson plans, practical experiments, and assessments that support active learning.
• Use innovative teaching methods and educational technology to enhance student engagement.
• Promote scientific inquiry, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Classroom Management & Student Engagement

• Maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Encourage active participation and sustained interest in Biology.
• Support students with varying learning needs to achieve academic success.
• Build strong relationships with students to enhance learning outcomes.

Assessment & Reporting

• Design and administer assessments to evaluate student performance and understanding.
• Maintain accurate records of academic progress and achievement.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Contribute to academic reporting and evaluation processes.

Collaboration & Professional Development

• Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum delivery and teaching strategies.
• Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development programs.
• Support school initiatives aimed at improving academic performance and student wellbeing.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, or Biology Education.
• Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in a recognized international school.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Requirements

• Cambridge-certified teachers will be given preference.
• Experience teaching Cambridge or international curricula is an advantage.
