Position Summary

The Community Bank is seeking a proactive Business Development and Marketing Officer to lead initiatives that drive deposit mobilisation, customer acquisition, and brand growth.

The successful candidate will design and implement marketing strategies, identify business opportunities, and support branch performance through innovative sales and promotional activities.

This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to execute effective marketing and business development campaigns within a competitive banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective marketing and business development strategies to achieve organizational growth targets.
  • Lead deposit mobilisation campaigns and monitor performance across branches and teams.
  • Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and potential financial products to enhance business growth.
  • Drive customer acquisition, retention, and relationship management initiatives.
  • Coordinate branding, promotional campaigns, and public relations activities to strengthen the bank’s visibility and reputation.
  • Support branch teams in executing sales and marketing strategies effectively.
  • Conduct market research and provide insights to inform product development and strategic decisions.
  • Prepare detailed marketing performance reports for management and Board review.
  • Monitor competitor activity and recommend strategies to improve market positioning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements in all marketing activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification in Marketing, Banking, Accounting, or related discipline is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role within the Community Banking or financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of deposit mobilisation, customer acquisition, and financial product marketing.
  • Proven experience in business development and marketing strategy execution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver measurable results.
