Communication Superintendent (Full-Time)

Location: Tarkwa, Ghana

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Communication Superintendent to lead the planning, development, and execution of internal and external communication strategies. The successful candidate will strengthen stakeholder engagement, protect and enhance the company’s reputation, and ensure consistent, effective communication across all channels. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership, public relations, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans that align with the company’s objectives and values.
  • Lead internal communication initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational alignment.
  • Manage external communication activities, including media relations, community engagement, and stakeholder communications.
  • Prepare and oversee the development of speeches, presentations, press releases, newsletters, reports, and other communication materials.
  • Represent the company at public events, stakeholder forums, and community engagements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media organizations, government agencies, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support crisis communication planning and provide guidance during critical incidents.
  • Monitor public perception and recommend strategies to strengthen the company’s reputation and brand image.
  • Coordinate communication campaigns that promote the company’s achievements, sustainability initiatives, and corporate social responsibility programs.
  • Provide communication advice and support to senior management and operational teams.
  • Evaluate communication effectiveness and prepare reports with recommendations for continuous improvement.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Strategic Communication, Journalism, Development Communication, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Membership of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana is required.
  • A Master’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations, International Relations, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar or more senior communication, public relations, or stakeholder engagement role.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate communication, media relations, and reputation management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Publisher, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional public speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
