We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Vendor & Work Control Specialist to support vendor performance management, operational coordination, and work control processes within our telecommunications operations.

Position Summary

The Vendor & Work Control Specialist will oversee vendor coordination, work order management, and operational performance tracking to ensure efficient service delivery across Telecel Ghana’s technical and engineering functions. The role requires strong analytical ability, stakeholder management skills, and a solid understanding of telecommunications operations and performance metrics.

The successful candidate will actively support vendor accountability, operational reporting, KPI monitoring, and process optimization to enhance customer experience and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Management & Coordination

  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure effective delivery of contracted services.
  • Monitor vendor performance against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational KPIs.
  • Coordinate vendor activities to ensure timely execution of maintenance and operational tasks.
  • Escalate performance issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Work Control & Operational Oversight

  • Manage and track work orders, service requests, and operational tasks across teams.
  • Ensure timely assignment, execution, and closure of work requests.
  • Monitor workflow efficiency and ensure alignment with operational standards.
  • Support engineering and technical teams in coordinating field activities.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to support decision-making.
  • Develop reports on vendor performance, network operations, and service delivery KPIs.
  • Use Excel and Power BI to generate dashboards and performance insights.
  • Support data-driven improvements in operational efficiency and customer experience.

Telecommunications Operations Support

  • Apply knowledge of telecommunications systems, processes, and service delivery models.
  • Understand engineering functions and their impact on network performance and customer experience.
  • Support operational teams in troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment between technical operations and business objectives.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Provide clear updates on operational status, vendor performance, and work progress.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration between engineering, operations, and finance teams.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across departments.

Financial & Administrative Support

  • Apply basic knowledge of accounting procedures in vendor tracking and service cost monitoring.
  • Support invoice validation and service cost reconciliation processes.
  • Assist in budget tracking related to vendor and operational expenditures.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience may be considered in place of formal education.

Experience

  • Experience in telecommunications operations, vendor management, or service delivery environments is an advantage.
  • Understanding of network operations, field service coordination, or technical support processes is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of Power BI for reporting and visualization.
  • Strong data analysis capabilities.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications KPIs, systems, and operational processes.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and financial procedures.
